came across your thread in pinoy exchange when i googled affordable violin/violin lessons in manila. i'm wondering po kasi..how young is the youngest violinist or student? and how will you know if your child is really in to violins or strings?? kasi po I have a 3y 5mo old daughter who seem to show interest in playing the violin. oddly, every time she hears/sees it being played via radio/tv, she stops whatever she's doing and picks up any thing within reach and mimics how a violin is played. when she reads books, although mostly pictured ones, she readily identifies the violin from a line up of stringed instruments. and shortly after tells me.."mommy d ba i like this one..? the violin..?"(she talks with an intonation kasi. like every statement is a question.) does this alone show interest? i'm seeking your advice po kasi it's good to give/provide formal music lessons to kids at age 4 daw. aside from developing their musical skills, they say, it also hones the math and science skills of the child. puede na po ba sya by then or still too early pa? how will i know po if she's really REALLY interested in playing the violin? we're not rich po kasi..enough lang..but if she's in to learning the violin as in TALAGA..gawa na lang ako ng paraan...hope po you can spare me some of your time in finding answers...thank you very much and more power to you.
